There are three levels of Biodiversity-
- Genetic level – Refers to different genes example – 50,00 genetically different strains of rice in India.
- Species level – includes diversity of animal or plant species example, phylum Arthropoda make up 75% of all animal species.
- Ecosystem level – The different species interact to form communities which in turn interact with abiotic components such as water, soil, etc to form an ecosystem. eg. Wetlands and Estuaries in India.
