The study of different kinds of organisms, their diversities and relationships among them is called Systematics. This word is derived from the Latin word, ‘Systema’ which means systematic arrangement of organisms. The scope of systematics was later enlarged to include identification, nomenclature, classification and evolutionary relationships between organisms.
